Scientific Sound

Scientific Sound promotes events in Vietnam, including shows in Ho Chi Minh City and elsewhere in Asia. The organisation also operates as a DJ agency, radio broadcaster and event management company. Its Ho Chi Minh City events have been held at Sky 9 Bar Saigon and Blue Monkey Saigon, alongside club nights, festival appearances and showcases in the wider region.

Weekly and monthly radio programmes feature DJs and producers from different countries, with music spanning electronic styles. The station’s selections include house, techno, drum and bass, hip-hop and trance. Event programming has ranged from club music to hip-hop, funk and soul. Its event series include DnB Saigon, Roots and Our House. In September 2022, a Roots event at Evita Bar in Saigon featured DJ Psycho-UK and music focused on hip-hop, funk and soul.

Our House held an edition at Lô 49 in Thảo Điền, Ho Chi Minh City, in February 2022, with Deep House and Tech House on the programme. Earlier instalments took place at venues including Nymphes and Arcan. Scientific Sound Records began with a Ho Chi Minh City launch event at The Villa Project in January 2024; Marco MEI performed, and the label’s first EP came out on the same day. DJ Psycho-UK is the head of Scientific Sound Asia.
