Southsea Cinema

Southsea Cinema is a film and arts venue running club nights in Southsea, Portsmouth. It is operated by Portsmouth Film Society, a not-for-profit organisation, and is located on Palmerston Road. The centre has a theatre space, conference rooms, a gallery and a CineCafé. Its programme spans film, live music, club nights, theatre, talks, workshops and outdoor screenings, with Drum & Bass events among its club bookings.

Ill Truth have featured on event line-ups. In 2026, the venue marked its fourth birthday with a Drum & Bass night headlined by ANTTC1. Its music programme has also included Jungle, with DJ Edit among the performers at a New Year’s Eve event in 2024. Between 2023 and 2026, the venue hosted DJ and other music events, some running late into the night. In October 2026, a Portsmouth City Council licensing sub-committee ordered a change to the venue’s designated premises supervisor and cut the permitted hours for live and recorded music.
