Stealth is a Nottingham club and event promoter, opened on 30 April 2004 by James Baillie and brothers George and Sean Akins. Its site on Masonic Place, Goldsmith Street, sits beside Rescue Rooms in a building previously occupied by Envy. Baillie had links with The Bomb and The Social, while the Akins were associated with Rock City. At opening, the venue installed a Funktion-One Dance Stack sound system.
The club has two rooms: Room One holds 440 people and uses a Void system, and Room Two holds 220 with Funktion-One equipment. Early fixtures included weekly Thursday NME nights, alongside Detonate, Spectrum, Bugged Out and Tyrant. Andy C, DJ Hype and Pendulum played in the opening year, and DJ Fresh and High Contrast have also appeared. In 2013 Stealth reworked its main room, moving the bar against a side wall and redesigning the DJ booth to enlarge the dancefloor.
Stealth Saturdays has presented house and garage acts such as Main Phase, while Stealth Vs Rescued joins Stealth and Rescue Rooms across five rooms. In 2022 Saturday sets in Room One leaned towards house and techno, and Friday events ran from drum and bass to techno. Stealth closed during the COVID-19 lockdown and reopened in September 2022 after refurbishment. DJ Mag’s 2014 Best Club in the World poll placed it at number 65, and it won Best Club at the Nottingham Best Bar None Awards.
