The Bowery Presents

The Bowery Presents is a New York City concert promoter booking shows across the metropolitan area, the Northeast and the South. John Moore and Michael Swier started it in fall 2004 with an exclusive agreement to book concerts at Webster Hall, with Michael Winsch and Brian Swier also among its founders. Its roots go back to Mercury Lounge, which opened on the Lower East Side in 1993.

A 2006 partnership with Jim Glancy took the company into larger New York rooms, including Radio City Music Hall, Beacon Theatre, Central Park SummerStage and Madison Square Garden. Its artist-development approach moved acts such as The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem, My Morning Jacket and Arcade Fire into progressively bigger shows. In 2017 Michael Swier and Live Nation formed Mercury East Presents around Bowery Ballroom and Mercury Lounge, and the same year The Bowery Presents opened Brooklyn Steel.

The promoter returned to Webster Hall when it reopened in 2019, and by January 2022 it was operating Brooklyn Steel, Terminal 5 and Webster Hall as an AEG Presents partner. It also books Music Hall of Williamsburg and Forest Hills Stadium, owns venues in Philadelphia and New Jersey, and has run shows at Royale in Boston. Pendulum are among the electronic acts on its bills.
