Transparent Audio

Transparent Audio is an event promoter and independent drum-and-bass label founded in Bristol in 2020 by Tom Davies, also known as Two Tee. Before launching it, Davies ran Instigate Recordings, a deep, minimal dubstep label. Transparent Audio began with deep, minimal drum and bass, then broadened its sound to include melodic and soulful styles, alongside 140/dubstep releases. Its release of Primitive Instinct’s debut EP was an early example of its soulful liquid output. The label was set up to give emerging producers a platform and foster collaboration among artists.

Transparent Audio has held drum-and-bass events at Simplon in All, The Croft in Bristol, Mezzanine - Tooting in London and Club Lucia in Vienna. Artists appearing at its events have included Geostatic, Primitive Instinct, Bluck and Episode Three. In March 2025, it partnered with Bristol promoter Breach for a night at The Exchange featuring music from 140 to 175 BPM. Its fifth-anniversary event took place at The Croft on October 10, 2025. The label received three consecutive Drum & Bass Arena Award nominations for Best Newcomer Label, ranked among UKF’s Top 20 Labels in 2021 and had releases reach number one on Beatport. It co-hosts a Rinse FM show with Yamatai Records featuring new music from emerging underground artists.
