DNB Backroom Session #3
Katys Garage · Dresden, Germany
21:00 – 04:00
URGE TO MOVE began staging parties in Dresden in 2010, with events also held in Berlin and Prague. Its Dresden venues included Club Paula, Katys Garage and Reithalle. Some Reithalle events used multiple floors, and performers included Andy C, Basstripper, Ed Rush and Grafix. Drum and bass shared the programme with other electronic music, including dubstep, jungle and reggae.
The series held recurring UTM sessions and worked with other event organizers on Dresden parties. Its connections included UTM-Records and the UTM-Family. Friedrich Schlüter and Mark Greiser started UTM-Records in 2014 as an imprint for the URGE TO MOVE brand; its releases centred on drum and bass, with house, hip-hop and electronica also represented. A 2025 gathering at Reithalle was announced as the final URGE TO MOVE event, marking 15 years of the series.
