WiGGLY Events

WiGGLY Events is a Toronto promoter founded by TAKiN, known as Captain Wiggle, who selects the music and DJs for its parties. It began with underground house parties, the first “Wiggly Beats” taking place in the basement of li’ly lounge on 11 January 2014. Early events brought electronic music and arts performances to warehouses, abandoned buildings, movie theatres and Cherry Beach. Luis F was the first resident DJ, and Barroness later took on resident, promoter and host roles.

Its signature events are Camp Wiggly, a yearly community gathering once called Playground, the Captain’s Moonlight Cruise and Wiggly Warehouse. The founders also set up Wiggle Room Toronto and Wiggle Room Records; the venue opened in September 2021 after COVID-19 delays, giving the community a permanent home. WiGGLY has run events at Motorista Studio and Acqua Supper Club with performers such as SZETO, Tyler Hill and Elixah, and in 2022 presented Nuit Blanche programming with more than 30 local artists.
