1015 Folsom is a five-room nightclub on Folsom Street in San Francisco’s SoMa district. The building was previously used as the Sutro co-ed bathhouse; Ira Sandler took over its club operation in 1986, when it was called Das Klub, and renamed it 1015 Folsom in 1989. Sandler, the club’s owner and founder, died in May 2026, aged 73.
The venue’s rooms each have a bar and DJ booth. Standing capacities are 600 in the Main Room, 250 in the Front Room, 200 in the Gold Room and 300 in the Klub Room. Its sound system was replaced in 1989, then upgraded in 2025 with d&b audiotechnik A-Series and V-Series equipment installed by JK Sound and Commercial Audio Video Solutions. Music and events there have ranged from house and techno to hip-hop and acid jazz, alongside experimental performances and community benefits. Early dance nights included Martini, Colossus and Boogie Buffet; Doc Martin became a regular Friday DJ. Pendulum, Madonna, Tiësto and Giorgio Moroder have also performed there. Annual events include The Get Freaky Afterburn and Gus Presents. In 2016, the Main Room gained a video wall of 36 LED panels, with a matrix switcher controlling displays around the venue.
