Abercrombie Hotel

Abercrombie Hotel is at 100 Broadway in Ultimo, near Broadway in Sydney. It opened as the Australian Inn in 1843, and the Australian Hotel was built there in 1938 on the former Tooth and Company Brewery site. Renamed Abercrombie Hotel, it closed in 2014 after hosting party nights including Purple Sneakers and S.A.S.H. Solotel bought the venue in 2016 and reopened it in December 2022, following interior work by H&E Architects and Michael Delany.

The reopened venue has a ground-floor club, public bar and beer garden, with the Lil Sis wine bar and shop also on that level; Casa Rosa is an upstairs cocktail lounge. The club has a sculptural DJ pyramid stage and Funktion-One sound system, including an EVO X installation in its main room in 2023. A planning proposal from 2009 gave the hotel a capacity of 230 people when entertainment was provided, and the venue has a 24-hour licence. Promoters have included Extra Spicy and Red Belly Records; artists who have played there include Ekzander, Jungist and Karmel Jäger.
