Addington Raceway, also known as The Met, is a racing and events venue at 75 Jack Hinton Drive in Addington, Christchurch. The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club moved to the site in 1899 and held its first meeting there on 6 November. The course began on about 36 leased acres; the club bought the lease in 1980 and later grew the site to 65 acres. Night racing started in November 1963.
The New Zealand Trotting Cup has been run at Addington since 1904, alongside races such as the Dominion Handicap, and the club holds about 70 meetings a season. The Christchurch Greyhound Racing Club held its first meeting there in October 1997. The venue also has a conference centre, restaurants and event rooms for 10 to 600 guests, and CreamEventsNZ has run events there. Andy C, S.P.Y and The Upbeats are among the artists who have performed at the venue.
