Aladin Music Hall is a nightclub and concert venue on Hannoversche Str. 9-11 in Bremen’s Hemelingen district. The site began as Luers’ Tivoli, a gasthaus with a ballroom, and a cinema was added in the 1920s. Bernhard “Natz” Linnenbaum took over the former cinema and gaststätte in 1977; the Aladin opened as a music venue the following year.
Linnenbaum acquired the whole complex in 1991, and the former ballroom returned to use as Luers’ Tivoli. The Aladin’s stated capacity is 1,750, while Tivoli can hold up to 700. Across the complex are five dance areas, 13 bars and two large stages. Mobile partitions allow areas to be used for separate events, with as many as three running at once.
Rock and jazz are central to the concert programme, alongside artists from other styles and dance events. Recurring nights include Hardrock-Nacht and Titty-Twister-Club, and Lifeline_Promotions has run events there. Benski has played at the venue, which has also hosted Nirvana. From 1998 to 2002, it hosted ARD’s Festival des Deutschen Schlagers.
Elisabeth and Werner Gerdes took over the venue with its staff on 1 July 2011; Werner Gerdes is its owner and managing director, and Unico GmbH operates it. The complex presents popular-music concerts, dance events and Kohlfahrt parties.
