Bar Society

Bar Society is a cocktail and music bar at 2102 Riegelmann Boardwalk in Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York City, within the historic Childs Building. It has an indoor restaurant and bar downstairs, with a stage, surround-sound speakers and catering kitchen; the venue holds about 1,000 people. The rooftop, with a DJ booth and sound system, overlooks Coney Island Beach and the ocean and holds 500 standing guests.

Events at Bar Society span soca, house and R&B, with Beach Cafe Society, Les NYC, Millo Ent and Scorch among the promoters. The venue also produces music, art and wellness projects in-house and hires out its spaces for weddings, film shoots and music events. In 2024, its rooftop hosted the Beach Rooftop Summer Series, including the So:Ho Day Party, which combined soca and house; DJ Foreigner was named the series’ resident DJ and curator that summer.
