Barbossa

Barbossa is a bar with a dance floor at 3956A boulevard Saint-Laurent in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal. It was previously known as Blizzarts, taking the Barbossa name in 2019 while keeping its interior and DJ-night programming. The building also housed the former Champs bar; the Diving Bell Social Club opened on its third floor in 2018. Barbossa has a bar area, dance floor and candlelit booths, with capacity for about 200 people.

The venue runs themed DJ nights across house, disco, techno, drum and bass and other electronic styles, alongside live jazz and Monday jazz sessions. Wet Steppahz and 140/160 have promoted events there. Artists to play Barbossa include Asha, Runa, Eytan Tobin and Boogaloo Jones.
