Barcocina West Town

Barcocina West Town is a modern Mexican restaurant at 1814 W. Chicago Avenue in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood. The restaurant opened in October 2022 in a building previously occupied by Tecalitlan. Barcocina’s first location began operating in Lakeview in 2015. Inside, seating is available for 144 guests, while the patio spans 4,000 square feet and can accommodate 250. The outdoor area has a pair of bars and fire pits, along with a mural by local artist Joseph Renda Jr. inspired by the neighborhood.

Shared plates, tacos and other modern Mexican dishes feature on the menu, including yucca tots and firecracker shrimp, with cocktails also served. The venue has a bar and lounge, and features live music. A weekly liquid drum-and-bass event, MOTION, was held there in May 2026. Artists who have played at Barcocina West Town include Current, Lo, Renan and Stunna. Founder John Durkin also founded Barcocina’s parent company, River Partners.
