Biltmore Cabaret

Biltmore Cabaret is a music venue beneath the Howard Johnson hotel in Mount Pleasant, East Vancouver, at 395 Kingsway. It began as the public house attached to the Biltmore Hotel, later operating under other names before Zak Pashak took it over and reopened it as the Biltmore Cabaret in 2007. The building had also served as a hotel and performance venue. Pashak shaped the interior with U-shaped booths and deep red damask wallpaper, drawing on New Orleans venue One Eyed Jacks.

The 350-capacity room has cabaret and gothic decor, a raised stage facing the dance floor and vintage video games at the rear. It operates mainly as a music venue, with occasional nightclub use, presenting local, Canadian and international artists. PacificDnB, ODJET and UV have run events there. Past performers include Angel Olsen, HEALTH, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and Owen Pallett. The venue has also hosted comedy, trivia and dance nights.
