Bollwerk Cologne

Bollwerk Cologne is an underground club and event space on Hohenzollernring in central Cologne, Germany. The site was a pizzeria in the 1970s, with tables cleared for dancing on Saturday nights. Moroco opened there in the early 1980s and closed in the early 1990s; a later attempt to revive the club used the name NachtRock. New management developed the Bollwerk concept after renovation work during the pandemic. The venue opened as a techno club on 10 February 2023, with Answer Code Request, Flug, Beatrice and Maxim Bogdanovic on the bill.

The two-level space spans 300 square metres, with standing room for up to 500 people. Its underground rooms have an industrial-style interior and sound and lighting equipment, and host club nights as well as concerts, corporate events and private functions. Electronic music is the main fare, with LoopLab Germany and LoopLab among the promoters to have staged events there. In February 2024, Bollwerk hosted a 33rd-anniversary event for Psycho Thrill Cologne, featuring Alien Rain and Claus Bachor.
