Brasserie de la Senne is a Brussels brewery and bar that hosts electronic-music events, at Anna Bochdreef 19/21 in Brussels. Its origins lie in a meeting between Yvan De Baets and Bernard Leboucq during the Zinneke Parade in May 2002; Leboucq had made Zinnebir as an amateur brewer for the parade.
The pair began brewing professionally in late 2003, setting up Sint-Pieters Brouwerij in a former Moriau brewery warehouse in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw. After two years, the site was too small, so they planned a move to their home town. While waiting for a Brussels base, they brewed in breweries belonging to friends. Their first batch made entirely in Brussels was brewed on 22 December 2010 at 565 Chaussée de Gand in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean. Since November 2019, the brewery has also operated from a purpose-built site at Tour & Taxis; the Molenbeek premises are now mainly used for barrel-aged beers.
Event nights at the brewery’s Zennebar include Zennebar sessions, La Terrasse Electro BXL and Drum & Beer, run by the Drum & Beer promoters. Artists who have played include Cellarman, DJ System-D, ELK and Expensive KVR. The beer range spans hoppy ales, barrel-aged mixed-fermentation beers and brews refermented with local Brettanomyces yeast. Brussels Calling is made annually to mark the anniversary of the first Brussels brew.
