Cabaret Voltaire

Cabaret Voltaire is a nightclub in Edinburgh’s Old Town, at 36–38 Blair Street. It opened in 2006 in vaulted chambers beneath the street, part of the Edinburgh Vaults, a network completed in 1788 during the South Bridge development. The venue also hosts live music, comedy and events for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The club’s programming spans electronic music, drum and bass and techno, with a D+B sound system in its main room, which holds about 250. An upstairs café space accommodates up to 120 and hosts acoustic performances and DJ sets; with both rooms open, the nightclub has capacity for about 500. Friday regular FLY Club has hosted Jasper James, La La and Denis Sulta. Other artists to play the venue include Jackmaster, Optimo, Nightwave and Selecta Slippa. Midnight Bass is among the promoters to have run events there.
