Camden Assembly is a live music and club venue at 49 Chalk Farm Road in Camden, London. The site began operating as The Monarch in the 1980s, when the former Victorian pub had an upstairs room for gigs and capacity for about 400 people. In the early 2000s it became The Barfly, hosting live performances and club nights. At that time, the indie night Kill Em All and promoter Queens Of Noize presented emerging bands, including The Libertines, Bloc Party and Kasabian.
The Columbo Group acquired the former Barfly in 2016 and opened Camden Assembly on 15 September. The programme combined live music with DJ sets, supported by a D&B sound system. Its technical guide specifies a D&B Audiotechnik PA with Y7P speakers and B6 subwoofers. Acts including Coldplay and The xx gave early performances at the site, and Yungblud played during the Camden Assembly era. Lucky Chip operated the kitchen when the venue opened.
Keeno Music, Bass Camp LDN and Mista Trick have all run events there. Propaganda Independent Venues acquired Camden Assembly in 2025; the company’s founders are Dan Ickowitz-Seidler and Richard Buck. The Columbo Group’s other venues included XOYO, Phonox and The Jazz Café.
