Canvas Bournemouth is a late-night bar and live lounge at 45 Poole Hill in Bournemouth’s Triangle. The premises opened as the 45 Club in October 1964, then became Samantha’s, Pebbles and Bumbles; Bumbles closed in 2010. After the building had stood empty, it reopened as the Canvas Loft Bar, bringing live music back to the site after a long break.
The venue has three rooms: the Live Lounge, Balcony Bar and Green Room, with capacities of up to 250, 125 and 45 respectively. The building is licensed for 450 people. The Live Lounge has a stage, touring-spec PA, Yamaha M7 mixing desk and lighting rig. Canvas hosts live acts and DJs, with club nights including drum and bass and jungle events; Martin Leggett is among the promoters who have run events there. Artists to play include Saffron. On 30 November 2024, the venue hosted the launch party for A Journey by Vinyl, a vinyl-only progressive house and trance night.
