Celeste is a cultural venue and club on Hamburgerstraße in Vienna’s 5th district, between the Kettenbrückengasse and Pilgramgasse U4 stations. A 2013 renovation preceded its relaunch.
The venue has two main rooms and a garden, with capacity for about 250. One room has a small stage and seating that gives way to a dancefloor at weekends; the other contains a bar and couches. Its programme spans electronic club music, jazz, improvised music, hip-hop, disco, house and techno, alongside concerts, film screenings and local indie pop. FUELIZED has run events there, and Kälte! marked ten years at Celeste in December 2024. The Neu New York / Vienna Institute of Improvised Music began there in September 2005 as a weekly Monday jam session founded by Marco Eneidi. After Eneidi returned to the United States in 2014, Susanna Gartmayer, Didi Kern and Thomas Berghammer hosted the sessions under the name Monday Improvisers Sessions. In 2025, organisers launched a fundraiser series for a new sound system and acoustic improvements.
