Chapeau Rouge is located at Jakubska 2, 110 00 Praha 1, Prague, Czech Republic, in a Classicist-Art Nouveau building. Its history as a bar and music venue goes back to 1919, when it opened on Jakubská Street. The ground floor reopened on October 25, 1994, and the club floor began operating in 2003. Occasional concerts started in the lowest basement in 2007, before that space underwent extensive renovation in September 2011. The venue has three floors, including two underground levels, with four bars and three stages.
Daily DJ sets, concerts and performances span dance music, international DJs, independent bands and other projects, with genres including funk, house, indie rock and hardcore. Early DJs included Loutka and Babe LN; later residents included Dan Cooley and Lumiere. Tata Bojs and Skyline are among the acts that have performed there.
