Circolo Magnolia is a live-music club and cultural association on Via Circonvallazione Idroscalo in Parco Idroscalo, Segrate, Milan. The association began in 2005 as a nonprofit cultural club. Its first five events at the current site took place from 8 July that year, followed by the establishment of Arci Magnolia on 23 October. The venue occupies space leased from the Province of Milan under an agreement connected to the rehabilitation of the area.
The club operates indoors during winter and outdoors in summer, when the site can hold thousands. Its programme ranges across electronic music, punk, hip-hop and rock, alongside concerts and DJ sets. Circolo Magnolia and LOBO have both promoted events there. Artists to have played include Black Sun Empire, Fabio FC, Blackeye MC and Decibella. Its programming also makes room for underground and emerging artists.
In summer 2006, Magnolia hosted the first Mi Ami independent-music festival in collaboration with Rockit. A building-renovation and energy-conservation project began in 2013 with the University of Milano-Bicocca, Brera Academy and Politecnico di Milano. For its twentieth anniversary, Magnolia and Artery Film produced a documentary featuring interviews with Bassi Maestro and Myss Keta. Riccardo Negri, a founding member, handled music programming in the club’s early years and later became its president.
