Commonwealth Bar & Stage Calgary

Commonwealth Bar & Stage Calgary opened in Calgary in 2011, occupying a former shipping warehouse at 731 10th Ave SW. Performance areas sit on the upper and lower levels. It holds up to 500 people. The main room has L-Acoustics KARA II line-array speakers and SB18 subwoofers; downstairs, UNDRGRD uses a VOID system.

Its programming has spanned post-punk, hip-hop, dance and electronic music, with Blueprint Events and The After Hours Club among promoters running events there. Regular offerings have included Modern Vintage Saturdays, monthly Hip-Hop Karaoke and 10 at 10, featuring local hip-hop acts. Artists who have played there include IMANU, Skepsis, Hybrid Minds and K Motionz. Commonwealth has hosted Sled Island festival shows and SoundOff showcases. Renovations announced in 2025 included a larger stage and dance floor, an expanded mezzanine, updated green rooms, new bathrooms and an LED lighting design.
