Continental opened in October 2023 as a temporary cultural venue at 41 Place de Brouckère in Brussels, inside the former Hotel Continental, built in 1874. Cultural association Bruxselair adapted the six-storey building for creative use, with shops, workspaces and artist studios. A creative market spans the first three levels, while tattoo and beauty studios occupy level four. The ground floor has a bar, and the venue includes a café.
On weekends, local collectives present their work and put on music events. Continental’s programme has featured drum and bass, including Liquid Funk and Deep DnB, alongside house and techno. Drum & Beer and Blanquette and Bass have promoted events there, and Cellarman has played at the venue. Brussels collective 21AM curated the programme for the October 2024 first-anniversary celebration. Club concepts change, with a different one invited to host events on Fridays. Co-founder Vincent Le Merer said the project sought to showcase Brussels businesses and make Place de Brouckère welcoming to visitors.
