Corleone

Corleone is a bar and cultural venue at Sendlinger-Tor-Platz 7 in Munich, with its entrance on Pettenkoferstraße. Uli Gansloser and Michaela Schembari opened it in April 2011, after their Neuland project closed in 2005. The premises had been a delicatessen and snack bar; the founders refitted the 40-square-metre shop, exposing concrete walls and keeping some of its tiles.

The venue has capacity for about 100 and includes a courtyard. Exhibitions have used two shop windows belonging to the neighbouring Marienapotheke. Its programme spans art, readings and DJ events, with music ranging from deep dubstep and jungle to drum and bass, house and techno. Time Tripping runs recurring bass-music nights, drawing DJs from the Munich collective founded in 2014; Break it Down - Munich has held drum and bass events there, and bambam.fun has also promoted nights. Resident Rawnfunkie and Cosimoto have played at Corleone.
