D! Club

D! Club opened at Place Centrale 1 in Lausanne on October 19, 1996. The building began as the Lumen theatre in 1908, later served as the ABC cinema, and was eventually converted into a club. Stéphane Bezancon founded the venue, and the Wegmüller family took it over in 2003. Jeff Mills and Salvatore Freda played at its 2009 reopening. In 2012, a balcony named for the former cinema was added, with sliding glass panels allowing it to have a separate DJ and musical atmosphere.

A 2016 redesign shifted the central bar and added a walkway suspended above it; the venue also has a spacious dancefloor. Its programme spans electronic, house and minimal music, with international DJs, local urban DJs, student nights, concerts and comedy shows. Concerts have included rock, hip-hop and French chanson. D!Club and Subset have promoted events there, while artists who have played include Mara (CH), [IVY], Lens and Rosa Pagano. The club received the Swiss Nightlife Award for Best Big Club in 2013 and 2014, and was nominated among Switzerland’s three best large clubs for five consecutive years.
