District

District is a live music and club venue in a former warehouse at 61 Jordan Street, in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle. It began as an art gallery for the Liverpool Biennial before moving into live music and club nights. The venue grew from The Picket’s relocation to Jordan Street after its Hardman Street premises closed, led by Jayne Casey and Eric Gooden with owner Philip Hayes. Casey and Gooden run District with their family.

The warehouse has a stage, PA and capacity of 275, alongside an outdoor bar and garden called YARD. Its programme spans live gigs, DJ nights, film screenings, talks, cabaret and festivals. Promoters who have run events there include James Davies and RAVE MODE; named nights include Boss Night, EAT ME + Preach and Beers For Queers. Liverpool Sound City and Positive Vibration have held events there, and performers at the venue have included Billy Bragg and Akala.
