Dune Park began in 2018 as a nomadic producer of large-scale electronic music events. Cofounders Laura Carrena and her partner Fede started the project with a third partner, who later left. Its first official event took place at El Gato Viejo in Retiro, Buenos Aires, on September 21, 2018. The permanent venue at Araoz 740 opened in 2022, after construction lasting a year and three months.
The three-floor cultural center has a basement club, a ground-floor digital exhibition room and lounge, and a first-floor space called the Theater. The club has a DJ booth and capacity for 200 people, with 160 meters of DMX-controlled LED strips. LiDAR sensors are used in its immersive room. The Theater, which holds 300 people, hosts theater, exhibitions and music. Electronic music is central to the club’s programming, alongside an aim to support Argentina’s local music scene. Legacy, Dune Park’s original event series, has featured Alexis Cabrera and DJ Koolt. Other artists who have played at the venue include Bad Boy Orange, Bryan Gee and DJ Marky.
