Dunia

Dunia is a music venue at No:19/2 Kadife Sokak in Caferağa Mahallesi, Kadıköy, Istanbul. It started around 2003 in a former storeroom beside a bar, playing world music at a time when nearby venues mostly stuck to rock, and by 2011 it was hosting regular DJ nights with a world-music focus.

By 2013 the programme had taken in funk and electronic music, and a rooftop stage hosted local musicians, including little-known artists. Dunia worked with the independent music initiative Müzik Hayvanı on concerts, album launches and the Bağımsız Festival. Promoters including berenalp, Fosil and Fossss Music have run events there, and BERENALP, Semi, RUK and Ezkiel have played.
