Echostage

Echostage is on Queens Chapel Road NE in Washington, DC, in a building previously known as DC Star and DC Tunnel. Panorama Productions and Club Glow took over the property in September 2012, then began renovations; the venue opened on September 22 that year. The work prepared the space for large concerts, live bands, MCs and productions requiring substantial stage equipment. Club Glow founded Echostage and books most of its events. An acquisition deal involving Club Glow, Insomniac, Echostage and Soundcheck was finalized in February 2020.

Occupying more than 30,000 square feet, the venue has capacity for about 6,000 people. Its main room includes a dance floor, a photo pit by the stage and a raised booth at the rear for show control. A 60-foot bar runs along each side of the floor. Mezzanines overlook the room from both sides, with a bar and bottle-service areas on each level; stairways at the rear corners lead to the VIP space. LED displays accompany the sound system, whose setup has included L-Acoustics L2 and L2D main speakers, KS28 subwoofers and A15 fill speakers.

Echostage’s programme centres on electronic dance music, with hip-hop, R&B and rock also represented. Glow holds dance-music DJ events there, while Bassrush and Steez Promo have also promoted events at the venue. Artists who have performed include David Guetta, Lorde and Cardi B.
