Electric Bristol is a nightclub and live music venue at 15 Nelson Street in Bristol. The building began as the Top Rank Suite in 1964 and later traded under several names, including SWX. It opened as SWX in September 2015, was acquired by Electric Group in 2017, and reopened on 9 September 2022 after fire damage the previous year. The venue took the name Electric Bristol in April 2025.
Its three rooms occupy several levels, with an overall capacity of about 1,800. First-floor Stage 1 holds 1,050 people and is used for live performances; its equipment includes sound and lighting, lasers, pyrotechnics and CO₂ cannons, alongside a four-inch-high stage. On the second floor, Stage 2 accommodates 500 and has a bar plus separate sound and lighting systems. Stage 3, also on that floor, has its own sound and lighting. The venue has a ballroom-style layout and sprung dance floor. Work completed in 2022 included an L-Acoustics Kara II PA, upgraded lighting, an LED wall, a restored double-height foyer and a wheelchair-friendly lift connecting all three floors.
Weekly club events take place alongside live shows. Promoters have included Big Fat Rave, HE.SHE.THEY. and Electrikal Bristol; past SWX nights included FarFetched and Codec, which featured house, R&B, hip-hop, old school and garage. Artists to perform there include Andy C, Dillinja and Grafix. In 2025, the venue announced investment in stage production and further sound and lighting upgrades as part of its relaunch.
