Elsewhere is a nightclub and arts venue in Bushwick, Brooklyn, inside a converted warehouse at 599 Johnson Avenue. It opened on October 31, 2017, after being established by Popgun Presents, the group behind Glasslands Gallery in Williamsburg, which shut in 2014. Rami Haykal and Jake Rosenthal, former operators of Glasslands Gallery, founded Elsewhere with Dhruv Chopra. The four-storey building covers about 24,000 square feet and contains the Hall, Zone One, the Loft, the Rooftop and the Chatroom.
The Hall has standing room for approximately 700 people and an L-Acoustics system used for live bands and DJ sets. Zone One is a DJ room with capacity for around 250, while the Loft has Funktion-One equipment. A four-point L-Acoustics system can send sound into different rooms. Other facilities include a lounge bar, an outdoor courtyard and a rooftop that operates seasonally; the Rooftop accommodates about 460 standing guests.
Programming ranges across live music, electronic club nights and performances by emerging local artists. Multi-room events have featured DJs and producers, with early bookings including Octave One and Jlin. Papi Juice has had a recurring residency, and Eli Escobar has appeared repeatedly. Mayor Bill de Blasio signed the repeal of New York City's Cabaret Law on the venue’s stage.
