Era uma vez no Porto

Era uma vez no Porto sits at Rua da Madeira 126 in Porto, Portugal, and hosts electronic music for up to about 200 people. Its beginnings in 2005 were as a retro-styled alternative venue linked to music and fashion. By 2008, it had relocated from Foz to downtown Clérigos, occupying the first floor of an old building near Livraria Lello. An earlier address was Rua das Carmelitas 162, where a balcony faced Clérigos Tower and Praça dos Leões.

The former venue contained three tea-room and bar areas, among them an upper-level lounge and the ground-floor Rés-do-Chão, which added to the bar space. A neighbouring Gira-Discos sold records, CDs and books, and exhibitions were held at the venue. Night-time DJ sets mainly featured indie rock, while its electronic music includes dark disco, electro, techno and house. Counterpoint.pt and Quarta Bass held events there, with Skäta and PIX.L among the artists who played. R4W began its residency in 2025 and holds recurring Wednesday club nights.
