Estalagem Da Ponta Do Sol

Estalagem Da Ponta Do Sol is a hotel in a restored Madeiran quinta above the cliffs of Ponta do Sol, with the historic buildings incorporated into a contemporary design. Its address is Caminho do Passo, 6, in Ponta do Sol, Madeira, Portugal. Cultural programming began in 2007 and included alternative festivals featuring contemporary, experimental and fusion world music. The programme was intended to bring local residents and hotel guests together.

In summer, L Concerts presents Portuguese, Lusophone and international contemporary music in the hotel’s main garden. The series has staged more than 120 concerts, many of them Madeira premieres, and was the island’s first independent music project. Performers in the programme have included António Zambujo, Dead Combo and Mão Morta.

The hotel co-organises Madeira Dig It, an experimental digital music festival, and hosts related after-sessions with mini-concerts, workshops and live DJs. It also runs Purple Fridays with three other institutions, bringing together digital nomads, hotel guests and local residents for DJ sets and sunset gatherings. House and techno DJs have performed at the venue, including Michael C; other artists who have played there include Magupi, Markee Ledge and NOIA.
