EXIT Glasgow began operating in September 2023, founded by musicians and DJs Miko Szatko (TRSSX) and James Johnson (JAYJAY). It occupies a basement at 96 Maxwell Street in central Glasgow, within a B-listed former printworks. The building previously housed nightclub Fury Murrys, which shut in 2008, and later a strip club. The venue has a capacity of 400.
Run by its community and artists, EXIT Glasgow provides a setting for exchange among local musicians, DJs and artists. Its music programme spans genres and includes experimental performances early in the evening. Workshops, art exhibitions and screenings are also held there. Local artists and organisations were intended to have access to the space for rehearsals and workshops. Rupture has run nights there, and artists who have played include Equinox, Mantra and Blackeye MC.
After first leasing its PA, EXIT Glasgow raised money to repair and renovate a sound system donated by a former Glasgow venue, with the goal of keeping it permanently. The team has a connection to WODAWATER/WDWTR, a Krakow–Glasgow label run by TRSSX and Kuba Château. Redevelopment proposals placed the club’s future in jeopardy in March 2025. In November 2025, Glasgow City Council turned down plans to demolish the printworks and build a hotel in its place.
