FLUCC is an arts and club venue at Praterstern 5 in Vienna, Austria. Founded in 2002 by the artists’ group Dynamo, it opened in an 85-square-metre space for contemporary art, sound installations and experimental and electronic music. A former school cafeteria joined the venue in 2004, bringing club culture and international concerts into its programme.
After the old Praterstern station was demolished in 2005, FLUCC moved to a pedestrian passage and nearby spaces under a lease with the City of Vienna. The new complex, completed in 2006, combines the converted passage with an above-ground structure designed by Klaus Stattmann from reused shipping containers. Its two main rooms are the roughly 300-square-metre FLUCC_WANNE downstairs and the approximately 150-square-metre FLUCC_DECK upstairs, alongside two terraces of about 100 square metres each. The venue’s capacity is about 200.
Events in the FLUCC_WANNE have ranged from hip-hop, techno and electronic music parties to noise-rock concerts, and have included drum and bass; the FLUCC_DECK has hosted bass music. Promoters running events there include Kid Kodama, GRAVITY and FUELIZED. Artists who have played at FLUCC include GEN-Z, Comrage, Escapism and Pessimist.
Since 2023, FLUCC has served as a Kultur-Ankerzentrum of the City of Vienna, with more daytime use of its spaces for production, exchange and experimentation. The venue’s name now gives its second “C” to Community.
