At 186 Hackney Road in Hoxton, London, Folklore has operated as a live-music and performance venue since 2014. Its two rooms accommodate around 150 people standing: the candle-lit front room holds about 55, while the rear live room holds roughly 95. Funktion-One speakers serve the bar, and the live room uses Void Acoustics.

A stage and dancefloor occupy the back room. Its technical specification also lists Meyer Sound UPA IP speakers, a USW-1P subwoofer and UPM-1P rear fills; DJ equipment comprises Technics 1200 MK7 turntables, Pioneer CDJ-900NXS players and a DJM-750MK2 mixer. Music programming covers jazz, indie and folk, with DJ nights, monthly Thursday jazz sessions and Sunday jams. Gotobeat and The Jungle Drummer presents... have promoted events there, and performers have included The Jungle Drummer, Kill Emil and Outrage. In 2017, the venue hosted the underground disco night -Undivided- and held house music nights, with a dancefloor, playroom area and seating.
