Forum Birmingham

Forum Birmingham, at 52–54 Dale End, began operating in 2021 after the building had been unused since 2013. The purpose-built entertainment venue held 3,500 people and first opened as the Top Rank Ballroom in 1967, later trading as the Top Rank Suite, The Hummingbird, The O2 Academy and The Ballroom. Nirvana, the Beastie Boys, Amy Winehouse and Ed Sheeran played the site in earlier years.

Forum Birmingham’s programme spanned DJ events, live bands, boxing and comedy. Big Skank Audio and Selecta Events UK were among its promoters, and Camo & Krooked, Kanine and Eksman appeared there. For the opening, DMX Productions fitted a d&b audiotechnik system with V-Series line arrays, six SL-SUB subwoofers built into the stage and D80 amplifiers. Billy Chauhan, founder of Global Venues, was managing director. The venue shut in April 2025 after the landlords closed the Corporation Square building, and the team reopened in Digbeth as Forum Digbeth, taking the sound system with them.
