Garbe Holešovice

Garbe Holešovice is an industrial events venue at Partyzánská 1/7 in Prague’s Holešovice district. It occupies the former Holešovice Power Station, constructed between 1898 and 1900 by the city’s Electric Companies to provide power chiefly for tram lines; the site also contained a tram depot. Its preserved buildings received Czech cultural-monument protection in 2002. At the close of 2023, a public selection process chose Lukáš Žďárský’s team for the venue project.

The complex contains a 2,500-square-metre main hall, a 1,000-square-metre second hall, vaulted cellar areas and office space. A glass roof, balconies and a lengthwise crane, capable of lifting several tonnes, are features of the main room. Its electronic-music events have included Komiks techno nights and DNB[SPACE] drum-and-bass events, as well as programmes by Addict with Rinse FM. Break, Kyrist, Skeptical and DLR have played at the venue.
