Gare Porto

Gare Porto is a club on Rua da Madeira in Porto, near São Bento station. It opened on 17 April 2008 in a building roughly 200 years old, previously used as a warehouse, a disco, the Passerelle strip club and the Traçadinho restaurant. At opening, its two main rooms held about 400 people; its current capacity is about 600.

The interior is divided into two tunnel-shaped spaces connected by arches, with granite walls and vaulted brick ceilings. One room serves as the dance floor, while the other is a lounge and bar. The main tunnel has a Void Acoustics system, including Air Motion triple-horn speakers and Stasys 8 subwoofers. Electronic music has been central to the programme, spanning house, techno and drum and bass. Gare Porto and Nerve Attack have both promoted events there. Artists who have played there include MOLECULAR, Flava D, Georgie Riot and Dub Elements.
