Gramps Wynwood

Gramps Wynwood is a bar in Miami’s Wynwood Art District, at 176 NW 24th St. It opened in December 2012 on a gravel lot. Owner Adam Gersten named it for his grandfather, Irving Miller, after selecting the location in early 2011. Before opening the bar, he had booked shows at Churchill’s Pub and started the music label Needless Records.

Its programme has included live bands, DJ sets, comedy and drag, with music ranging from rock to electronic. Karaoke and community gatherings have also featured. Cirx Records and Digital Sessions & DJ Strife have run events there. Sicknote, //DLM, Peaches and Hannibal Buress have played the bar. Glenn Branca and DB Cooper have also played at Gramps Wynwood.
