Groundless Factory

Groundless Factory is a club and arts venue at B06-2, 706 Road, in Beijing’s 798 Art Zone. Founded by artist Narankhuu, it grew from Groundless Camp, an experimental art collective started in 2017. The club began operating in 2022, during pandemic restrictions, in an eastern Chaoyang industrial park. Its first space occupied a former warehouse boiler house beside a water tower; in summer 2025, it moved to 798. Narankhuu is from Inner Mongolia. The venue previewed its new premises from May 22 to 24, 2025.

At the new site, electronic-music nights share the programme with exhibitions, performance art, queer events and daytime film screenings. Groundless Camp’s experiments with modular synthesisers and traditional acoustic instruments informed the venue’s electronic focus. Eeka and .WEST have run events there, with artists including Daniel Power, Eeka, Anji and NYB. Groundless Factory marked its third anniversary in September 2025.
