Based at Am Karlstor 1 in Heidelberg, Grün & Gold occupies part of the former Karlstorbahnhof, on the Old Town’s eastern side. The cultural centre relocated to Südstadt in autumn 2022, after which the building remained unused until the city leased the site to Hip Hop Heidelberg e.V. in autumn 2023. The club marked its opening in March 2024 at the former Klub K location. Its programme spans electronic music across genres.
Hip Hop Heidelberg e.V. manages the venue, which stages hip-hop parties, concerts and open-mic sessions; Saturday programming centres on electronic sets from DJs and regional collectives. Grün&Gold has promoted events there, and Waeys and Inja are among the performers. Windows extending from floor to ceiling face the Neckar, and the venue’s sound system received an equipment upgrade during summer 2024. Student associations and collectives can rent the premises for events.
