HWK

HWK is a coffee shop, cocktail bar and DJ venue at 29 White Post Lane in Hackney Wick, London. It opened as a small bar with an interior courtyard in summer 2019, then began operating as an events space the following summer. Its neighbouring car park was turned into The Lot, an outdoor events area, in 2020.

The venue has a courtyard, club room, cocktail bar and café, with separate sound equipment in the courtyard and club room. It holds about 150; the courtyard alone can take up to 250, falling to 125 when the club room and cocktail bar are in use after midnight. The Lot gained a roof over more than half its space and a custom-built sound system from East London Audio in 2021.

The Lot hosted parties with DJs including Nick the Record, James Priestley, Red Rack’em and Paranoid London. Its lease could not be renewed because of property development, and the outdoor space held its farewell party on 31 December 2022. HWK has hosted house and UK garage events, with nights run by midnight request line, HWKLONDON and Yana G; artists to play there include Martial Taktics. In 2026, resident DJ olabernic curated a night at the venue.
