KABUL à GoGo · Utrecht, Netherlands
22:00 – 04:00
KABUL à GoGo is located at Gietijzerstraat 3 in Utrecht’s Werkspoorgebied, in the former Central Studios building once considered for De Machinerie, a planned film and visual-culture venue. Founded by Afghan refugee Omar Waseq, the club opened on April 12, 2024. Waseq drew on his parents’ recollections of Kabul before the war and signed a ten-year lease. The launch weekend included a continuous party of about 56 hours.
The venue runs two named spaces, ABU and Teatro. ABU is used for dancing and has a sound system; it holds 250 people, while Teatro has room for 100. An earlier plan proposed a main room configurable for 400 to 1,750 people, a smaller 250-person room and occasional use of a separate warehouse with capacity for 2,500.
Its programming covers alternative electronic music and cultural events, with DJ sets and live performances spanning house, techno, bass and breaks. Plans included music beyond Western traditions, softer sounds on Fridays and darker, harder selections on Saturdays. The smaller room was also intended for experimental music, live performances and non-dance events. Jungle and drum-and-bass nights have been held there, with Jungle Kitten Events and 030.radio among the promoters. Artists who have played at the venue include Alleviate, Doldrums, FUTURE PROOF and Lucy Furr.
ABU and Teatro opened for the club season in September 2026 with a programme of electronic music.
