Karmen Camina

Karmen Camina is a club and cultural venue at 4 cour des Cigarières in Strasbourg’s Krutenau district. It opened in May 2024 inside the former Manufacture des Tabacs, a 19th-century factory once used to make cigars. The venue occupies 500 square metres, including parts of the building’s former boiler room and printing works, and is operated by Tiers-Lab, a cooperative whose members each have one vote in general assemblies. Tiers-Lab brings together independent entrepreneurs and creatives from Strasbourg’s alternative cultural community.

The site brings together a club, café-bar, concert hall and rooftop, with capacity for about 500 people. Its programme covers electronic and experimental music alongside alternative acoustic and dance music, as well as audiovisual work, performance, workshops and conferences. The Club has a Danley Sound Labs stereo system and acoustic treatment; the Halle concert room has a 360-degree sound dome fitted with CYM Acoustics speakers. Vintage Montarbo speakers are used in the café-bar. Programming includes artists from local, national and international scenes, with residencies also among the activities. The venue presents textile events such as fashion shows.

Live performances and DJ sets feature in the programme, with events run by Karmen Camina and SPECTR. Artists who have played there include ZULI, Ehua, Cardus and GTK. Other artists who have played there include Matty Chiabi, Prozak (IRL) and VXRGO.
