Kaschemme Basel

Kaschemme Basel is a club and concert venue on Muttenzerweg in Basel’s Breite district, Switzerland. Eres Oron, Daniel Henke and Marco Schmutz rented a vacant warehouse in 2013 and opened the converted building the following year. The warehouse had no toilets or sewer connection when they took it on; planning and construction each took six months. Before opening, they installed the sound system formerly used at Nordstern.

The venue holds about 200 people and combines a concert room, nightclub, bar and outdoor garden on former industrial land at the edge of Basel. Studios and workshops for artists are also part of the site. Its programme ranges across electronic music, including house, techno and breaks, alongside rock and rap concerts. Bass Arcade and Kaschemme have both promoted events there; recurring NICA events and the annual Kaschemme Day & Night Summer Rave are also part of the calendar. FD has played at the venue.

The Uptown association, established in 2020, supports music, art, culture and society at Kaschemme.
