Le Chinois is a concert venue and club at 6 place du Marché in Montreuil, just east of Paris, near the Croix de Chavaux metro station. It occupies a former Chinese restaurant, whose earlier use is reflected in the venue’s name; the restaurant became a club in 2012. Rachid Messous later owned the club.
The venue has a capacity of about 300, with a large dance floor, bar counter, smoking room and small stage. Its sound system was refreshed in summer 2025. Programming has ranged from rock, punk and jazz to electronic and world music, across club nights, DJ sets and live groups. Promoters who have run events there include Alban and TECHNORAMA.
Three former members of the team behind L’International took over programming in 2025, and Le Chinois reopened at its Montreuil address in September that year. The revised programme retained club nights with global sounds and local electronic artists alongside a more rock-oriented concert strand. Artists who have played there include Qant, Mayflo, Dougie Jones and Fatale Furylax.
