Le Kilowatt

Le Kilowatt is an event venue at Espace Marcel Paul, 18 rue des Fusillés, in Vitry-sur-Seine, just south-east of Paris. The city of Vitry-sur-Seine and L’Assoce Kipik, the association behind Festival Sur Les Pointes, initiated the project. It occupies a former power station site in the Ardoines district; its name refers to the neighbouring plant, and the industrial setting remains part of the venue. Conceived for public events, local associations and municipal projects, it also accommodates smaller gatherings.

The site has two spaces, L’Oasis and Le Chap, and capacity for about 1,000 people. Its programme includes techno, bass music, trance and dub, with events run by OHLALA Productions and Liquicity. Maduk, Anaïs, Fred V and Koven have played there. At a 2023 Kilowatt Sound Meeting, 12 bass cabinets were arranged around the audience for a dub sound-system setup. Programming also encompasses psytrance and live electronic music.
